… Sorry, Dawn
Worry is awful, and I know sometimes we can’t help ourselves. Others have given you what I think is great advice: call your doctor and put him to work *for* you. >So hang on to those quits you guys and gals. Call your Doctor. In my clinic I can call & speak to my Dr’s nurse anytime & then she relays the message & gets back to me. I had the same thing happen when waiting for liver function tests. The clinic schedules an appointment with a liver specialist due to test results. Got me thinking –WHAT THE HELL DID THE TEST RESULTS SHOW?????? Then the clinic calls & puts off the specialist’s appointment another week. After stewing a day I called my doctor. He put my mind at ease….the test results were normal. If I would have had to live with the doubt for a week it would have killed me. I was an emotional wreck after one day. Call your doctor and ask why the appointment. Put your mind at ease. The doc will bill healthcare for the phone call, so you’re not asking for a favour. You’re asking him to do his job. Good luck, andn …….yeah……dont’ worry!! ;-P DG

Ouch! Scary stuff indeed … I’d be pooing my pants by now if I was in that position, although quite irrationally. He probably just wants to see you to talk through your results rather than just send a letter. It’s the receptionists I hate. They seem to think it’s their job to make sure nobody who calls the centre actually gets to see any of the doctors. Receptionist:<briskly> "Hello, medical centre." Patient:"Please can I make an appointment to see the doctor." Receptionist:"I can fit you in on Tuesday 30th December" Patient:"But that’s two months away … haven’t you anything sooner?" Receptionist:"Is it an emergency?"
