TV's on Princess

Question:

I will be taking my laptop with us on Princess of the Sea in about two months. I can play DVDs and watch on the small screen. It has the ability to play on any TV that has a phono type plug (NOT THE USUAL COAXIAL ANTENNA WIRE). Would any one know if the TV’s on the princess have this type of jack available? Response:

Don’t know what type of plugs, if any, are on Princess’s TVs, but Radio Shack sells adapters to go from phono to the usual coaxial antenna connector.

I don’t know about the "Princess of the Sea" Sea Princess, but both the Grand Princess and the Golden Princess had front RCA jacks on the Televisions. I used them to view my digital photos. So there is hope for the Sea Princess (but no guarantee). — Greg (Remove the ‘xxx’ to send Email)

Why are you lugging along movies and a laptop any way?  You can stay home and watch movies alot cheaper there.   Get out of your cabin and enjoy the ship.  Take a swim and breath fresh air.  See the stars at night.  Go dancing.  See a live performance. Have fun,  live alittle.

YOU get a life!  There’s plenty of time on the ship to do what ever YOU want. If someone wants to relax in the afternoon by watching a movie, what the heck is wrong with that?  Are you going to complain if I read?  Take pictures?  Send an email?  Hit the casino? I’m constantly amazed by people telling others how to spend their vacation time. And turn off your HTML non-sig, too. Beth

I was waiting for this post.  In fact I was surprised that it wasn’t the first reply after the original post. Oddly enough, on my two cruises I spent more time watching TV than I do at home.  Not being an outdoor person I found that the only thing to do (indoors) aboard ship was eat or drink. (Well there was the library, but  it was lame and the fitness center – puhleze). Unfortunately, the ship I was on had the WORST tv imaginable.  I spent far too much time looking at "the view from the bridge".  I borrowed several Video Tapes from the Library and, generally had a good time. Also, I am a night person (up at noon, awake until 3 or 4 am) and there just isn’t much to do after midnight.  TV and videos saved me from being totally bored. Everybody doesn’t have the same interests and they really should be criticized because they enjoy doing things that , perhaps, you don’t. While I agree that in this country threre is too much TV watching, I can’t tell somebody else how to have fun, and neither should you. If it matters, the movies are a fall back plan  for quite times or if the entertainment is not up to snuff. It can also play CD’s and MP3’s. In other words I can bring my entire CD collection on a couple of disks. Most important I can download my digital camera so more pictures can be taken without overloading the memory. And since my wife sleeps about two hours more than myself, I’ll have about 14 hours to kill during the cruise… "Anything that doesn’t kill you,,,,,,,just hurts a hell of a lot" JLP20
