Yes, potty-mouth (ken) thinks that everyone who disagrees with him is a hall monitor. He can cross-post all he wants, but no one can e-mail him. Living in the world according to (ken)’s rules can be confusing, foks. Another interesting thing about (ken) the vet-basher is that one could ask him the same thing that he asked Elaine. A troll is somebody who "trolls" newsgroups starting fights/arguments just for the fun of it — someone who goes fishing for suckers who rise to the bait; someone who says provocative things just to get a rise out of people. You can usually spot the pure trolls a mile away by, among other things, a less-than-literate use of the English language. However, the word "troll" has also become a catch-all rallying cry for people who don’t like someone else’s argument. One’s man’s legitimate point is another man’s trolling. Trollism is to newsgroups in the 1990s what McCarthyism was to political discussion in the 1950s. You yell "troll" and it’s like yelling "commie." You can tar someone with no evidence or discussion. This newsgroup, and other dog newsgroups, seems to have more than its share of people who are a little, or more than a little, paranoid about alleged trolls. According to them, the dog groups have more than their share of trolls
. You’ll see them yelling "troll alert" at every opportunity. Sometimes the line between trolling and just talking is a thin one. However, you can usually make a decision based on the history of a person’s posting. Someone like Michael Patton, for example, aka "Dog Game…..", is a professional troll, never posting legitimate questions or useful information, yet always trying to provoke reactions. Someone like myself is more of an amateur, dabbling in trolling for specific fish, fish like Patton.

Welcome to the "alleged Trolls club". If you have anything meaningful to say someone will eventually call you a troll. I’ve learned a lot from your posts. I’m unusually impressed by your responses to people that I consider "trolls", who can usually be identified by the number of crossposts in the header. It often makes me glad that someone responded to an issue and did it in a well reasoned fashion, it saves me having to try to make the same points, … less effectively. I usually have to resist doing a "your so right", "ditto", or "very well put" type of post in response to yours. > I have been accused of being a troll. > WTF > Thumper

Heya Thump, I am only speaking for me when I say that I had no idea that their was a problem with using peoples’ real names. I can understand why there would be and all, however, I had never thought about it previously and now am wondering if I have ever used *your* name specifically in posts that I have written to you. Just wondering…I do think that maybe Kaji didn’t know though and you might have been just a *little* hard on her. Please don’t think I am trying to jump into the middle here, it’s just that I am almost positive that I would have done the same and would be absolutely shocked if I had gotten the same response from you. Actually I have never seen you angry, so your post shocked me regardless. Just my 2 cents. -judy

No. You havent <G>. Just wondering…I do think that maybe Kaji didn’t know > though and you might have been just a *little* hard on her.
Perhaps, and that is why I posted an apology for the harshness of my tone. People seemed to have missed that and continue to jump to Kaji’s defense, as if I were continuing some tirade against her.
