I’m so glad he’s home.  Sorry he had some problems, but it sounds like your vet was on top of things.  Awww, it’s so hard to watch them when they are groggy from anesthesia.  Since I had to leave Pandora at the vet’s till I got off work, I didn’t have to see that part.  I do remember Mickey’s neuter — he came home about an hour after surgery and was groggy, too.  Just keep pampering him and watching him.  I’m sure he’ll be OK.  It tugs at your heart to see them weak, doesn’t it?  I’d suggest no rich treats until at least another day.  I gave Pandora a few little pieces of turkey the night she came home, and she only threw it up later. Offer little bits of bland food at a time until he’s perkier. Now dry your eyes and go hug him for all of us.  :) Eva

Hi Bob, Thanks for sweet comments about Louie and Sjonnie – it wouldn’t matter what colour or breed they are – cats are just terribly cute! Sjonnie is home. He had a slight breathing difficulty during the op – the vet’s assistant told us – he seems to have developed a problem in his nasal cavity due to the upper resp infection he had when he was a wee baby. They will examine this problem further if it continues to cause a problem for him at home. He is now very drowsy and walking around a very small area – Louie has been great – she has not hissed at him or growled despite his heavy scent of antispetic etc. She has sniffed him gently, and groomed around his head/ear area – what a sweetie – she is almost taking over as mother figure :o ) Still though I have some watery eyes from seeing Sjonnie not being able to even hold his head up at this early post-operative stage – he is so fragile looking and so sweet and helpless. Thanks for listening to this. :o ) Cheerio — elsa ^..^ http://arnhem.telekabel.nl/~c35065/louie.htm for the scoop on pee and poop: http://poop-pee.homepage.com/ show your cats off to the rest of the world at: http://arnhem.telekabel.nl/~c35065/cattitude.htm

I was like this when Louie came out of her op as well – crying, reading far too much into it, thinking everything looked too painful not just for the critter but for me to watch. Sorry about this babbling. I just can’t stand seeing the critters suffer even for a good reason such as a spay/neuter procedure. :) Eva

Hi Sjonnie and Elsa,     Good luck tomorrow.  Hope all goes well with the surgery.  I’m sure Sjonnie will do just great, Elsa.  Try not to worry too much.  I think it’s harder for the humans then the little feline boys sometimes :o )  Extra Head Butts for Sjonnie tonight and tomorrow and make sure Louie is extra sweet to him and doesn’t take his paper sack away from him!!! — Best Regards, Connie http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=145752 A true cat lover cradles a new kitten and knows that nine lives will never be nearly enough… " -Unknown

Elsa: I just went to your home page and had a good look at Louie and Sjonnie they are so cute. Wait until they’re 3 years old or so. My trouble sleeps just like Louie does, and makes the same kind of sounds. a quiet word? *L* I’ll try doing the winkety wink language – I wink at them, they wink back, I use one eye to blink, they return with a one eye blink etc etc *LOL* >How long are they keeping him at the vet’s?

Not sure, but he has to be there by 8.00am and I guess when the anesthesia wears off they’ll call us to pick him up ;o) >Better get some fresh toys if he’s anything like my red one. Yes fresh is best even when it comes to toys ;o) – I want to buy one of those wheels with a ball rolling around inside it – although Eric thinks they are silly and the cats won’t use it – but if  I throw a few kitty treats inside it – they’ll really use it *L* >Good luck to Sjonnie and don’t worry! >Best wishes

Connie *smiles* well I know for a fact that the procedure is less painful for the little weeners (males) *LOL* – I just know that I hate seeing the doc at times, so does Sjonnie so I have put myself into his situation and begun to get nervous *L* Yikes  - we also have to get up damn early for this op – the crack of dawn practically *L* He began spraying in the box last week the poor ‘lil critter – and for me that was the sign. Sjonnie passes on a wet/dry/rough tongue lick to your nose *hehehe* Thanks :o ) — elsa ^..^ http://arnhem.telekabel.nl/~c35065/louie.htm for the scoop on pee and poop: http://poop-pee.homepage.com/ show your cats off to the rest of the world at: http://arnhem.telekabel.nl/~c35065/cattitude.htm

Marlene Woo looks like December is the month for spay and neuter for some of us:) How will you spoil her afterwards? I am planning a little party for the ‘de-ballisation’ when he returns home – perhaps a tincy bit of cheese, some slices of fresh ham and some new toys (although, the poor critter won’t be able to stretch much) *g* Thanks ;o) — elsa ^..^ http://arnhem.telekabel.nl/~c35065/louie.htm for the scoop on pee and poop: http://poop-pee.homepage.com/ show your cats off to the rest of the world at: http://arnhem.telekabel.nl/~c35065/cattitude.htm
