OT-Newsreader question posting binarys

Question:

**** I once was told infinite wisdom abounds in the AS3 halls ******* binary, newsgroups Ok, It’s not porn. Really. How do I take a local pic from a digital camera and shape it up and post back to a binary group. As an attachment? I follow the alt.binaries.food group and they are constantly posting pics 1,500 kb or less. How do I format them to attach as binarys? Any FAQ link would be helpfull. TIA Craig

You just need some basic image editing software, to crop or resize your picture.  If you don’t already have something (usually, your digital camera will come with at least a simple program) look here: http://www.tucows.com/imgedit95_default.html Then save your picture as a JPEG (extension .jpg). Then, in your Free Agent newsreader, check your Help menu for assistance on specifying your picture as an attachment. It’s pretty easy.  Easier than quitting the freakin’ cigs, that’s for sure. Need more, just YELL! Mike VOF+ with the pictures to prove it. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Any FAQ link would be helpfull. >TIA >Craig

What Mikey said… Agent is excellent for this, and Photoshop Elements is brilliant for image editing. It has, as do a number of other, a superb facility for saving your jpeg files at any size or level of compression you want I’ve never posted to binaries, but the same rules apply for posting pics to websites, and for emailing steveb
