Teehehehe Jill, I guess most of them don’t. Too close to the house for comfort. Besides I think many mailmen are scared of dogs, rightfully so I might add and the dogs sense this. Anyway I guess its ok for pupsters to not like mailmen. Just one of those things. I know my dogs don’t like them at all. Gwen 10m

Uh…sure would like to what? Bark at postal carriers, or see in color? If you don’t mind appearing foolish and scary, you can easily accomplish the former. The latter may require surgical intervention, though…..  :>) Jef.

Response:

I think it’s just a territorial/defense thing.  Someone coming to your house and touching stuff on your property just doesn’t seem to be "cool" for dogs.  Either they think that someone is trespassing or they’re "guarding" you – I tend to think that they’re being protective.     My parents’ Springer Spaniel would be in the yard when the mail guy came (or the meter reader, or anyone) and she’d go nuts.  But if my mom or dad were out there and they spoke to the person, she’d quiet down and go do something else.j     LizB

This is not such good sign. You need to get that pup out and about to Pets Mart, dog parks and places where dogs are allowed such as many Home Depots. Also ask mailman if he would mind giving pupster treats when he arrives so she will associate him with good things. EARLY socialization is one the biggest keys to happy dogs!:) Give that new furkid a big hugh hug for me. I just love pups and I am so jealous with envy you get to smell "puppy breath"! Oh to die for! Gwen 10m
