Notebook running with AC-Adaptor?

Question:

>Wow.. A 220v notebook computer? You sure it doesn’t "do" 12volts already? >Mine does, and works perfectly when plugged into the cigarette-lighter. >Have always made sure it’s unplugged when starting the engine, tho.

I mean the power adapter, of course. This device provides 18 volts DC. I suppose, the notebook will not work on 12 V. clear skies, Wolfgang

Response:

>You mean 12VDC to 120VAC?

No, 12 V DC  to 220 or 230 V AC. Here in Europe we use higher voltage. clear screen, Wolfgang

Many laptops have the power supply inbuilt and therefore require mains power.  Yours obviously has an external power supply. So to answer your question, no, mine for one doesn’t do 12 volts already.

Response:

I recently bought a 12v-220v inverter for my notebook, and it works fine. It is made by Avro-Pacific in Middlesborough, England, and costs
