Has anyone had this happen………….

Question:

I woke up covered in tiny bumps once too.  I had a flu or something at the time.  The bad news is that the spots were psoriasis and jsut kept growing and growing and spreading.  A nightmare at best.   Everything finally went away in about two to three months after I went on Pagano’s diet.  I hope yours retract before getting really bad!  Good luck on surgery.

Response:

Lorraine, Tough one…..without seeing the eruption, no way to accurately tell you what’s going on.  I’ve often thought that if one had a digital camera, I could do a much better job of getting you some help. I do think you will need to see the dermatologist a.s.a.p. Dr. Joe

Response:

Hey Gang, Here is my predicament. I went the Dr. on Monday and found out I needed to have surgery on Thursday, due to an infected exterior Ulcer caused from my Pustular psoriasis. This I can deal with, it has happened many times before and although the scars and recovery aren’t fun, I’m just glad they can treat it The problem is, I woke up Tuesday morning covered (and i mean 95%) by little bumps that itch like crazy. I thought maybe an allergic reaction, but i have changed nothing out of the norm. Then I thought maybe hives due to nerves, but they dont look like typical hives. So now I am baffled, I am using anti-itch spray from Benadryl and it helps some, but it’s been 4 days and they show no sighns of letting up. My surgeon, who is not a derm had no comment on what they might be. I have an appt to see the derm on Monday but was hoping someone in the group may be able to help me out with identifying them. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Peace and Love Lorraine

Wish I knew what to help with this, but does sound like a dermie problem. Maybe even though he’s apparently busy, Dr. Joe would reply to a personal e-mail?  (I have his address if you need it) I hate to think of you itching your way through the whole weekend.  Maybe the oral Benadryl taken as well would help?  Or there are some things for poison ivy that might work. Best of luck, LadyAndy2

Couple thoughts, FWIW. First is that it could still be an allergic reaction. I used ibuprofin intermittantly for a couple years with no probelms at all, and then suddenly became very allergic to it. Or could be an allergic like reaction by your body to fighting the infection. I expect you’re running some kind of fever with the it, even if lowgrade.  I remember getting something like hives from a bad infection related fever in the past. -Kim "From far, from eve and morning  And yon twelve winded sky  The stuff of life to knit me  Blew hither, here am I"      -A.
