Fishing with Moe

Question:

He’s great for an old fart! He sure made me feel good at the Mid-Tenn Classic, by being older than me. ;-) — Jerry Barton Be Kind To Your Children, They Get To pick Your Nursing Home. www.jerrys-world.com

I remember reading about your baby, and that trip with Moe – and something about a full moon… And you’re right – Moe’s a great guy. I knew that the first time I met him. We met at a little diner in Okeechobee – can’t remember the name, something like "Corky’s". I had never been out with a guide before, and was a little apprehensive about meeting someone who could easily fish circles around me. I was afraid he was going to be a big-shot, like the other guides I had met. What a contrast. We sat and talked for a while, and it was like being with family. The next day was easily the best day my dad and I had ever had fishing. We caught bass all day, told stories when the bass were taking a break, then caght some more. What a great day. A day that will always be a very special memory for me. JK

Yup, that sounds like a typical day with Moe.  You can’t ask for a better day, or a better guide than the day you had with Moe.  He’s the best! — Steve OutdoorFrontiers.com http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods. http://www.herefishyfishy.com

I did? I think you misunderstood. I said I was in my 70’s and I have a large Okeechobee ass.  :) — The most precious thing we have is life, yet it has absolutely no trade-in value. Good Fishing – Moe Moe’s Guide Service (Lake Okeechobee) – http://members.aol.com/moefran/index.html

I’ve been out with Moe a couple of times. We loaded the boat once, and got almost skunked once, but both days were great. Whether the fishing is any good or not, you’re in for a great day on the water. As far as teaching him anything – I think he’s too old and crotchety for that :o ). Jack

Response:

Jack old buddy, glad to see your still around. How’s your dad doing? You need to drag yourself back over here soon. >I’ve been out with Moe a couple of times. Dad’s doing ok. Not great, but a LOT better than we expected. He’s back in the hospital again for a blood clot in his leg, but that should just be for a few days. He was just getting strong enough to go fishing again, but we didn’t quite make it. We’re hoping this is a minor setback, and I can get him out fishing soon. You’re right about getting back out there. I can’t even remember the last time I went fishing. Thanks for checking on me, bud. Life is kind of stinking right now. It’s nice to know people care. Jack

Response:

Sounds exciting.  Does Moe stick with the 10# mono, or go with the PowerPro for that?   Seriously though, a couple of years ago, my first time fishing in FL, I had  a small gator chasing a Jitterbug. Being from NJ, I thought it was a beaver, and couldn’t understand why it was doing that . Once it through the water. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >See if he’ll take you gator fishing like my son Jim and I did :)
