Don't harass police dogs in Frederick, Md.

Question:

Just curious, but how were the dogs teased and harrassed?  Around here, they are almost always with their handler when on duty, and therefore pretty calm and cool, unless they are actively working.  Otherwise they are in the vehicle, but normally still in sight of the handler.  Offduty they go home and stay with the handler’s family. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Be warned that harassing a police dog in Frederick is now a crime. > You could get up to 90 days in jail and a 500 dollar fine. In California it is a crime to assault, harass, annoy or otherwise interfere with a Police Dog or Horse. Its a Felony if the dog or horse is severely injured. Interference can be anything from stabbing/shooting the animal to scaring a police horse by running a remote control car under its feet (personally experienced that one!). Carol McE Park Ranger
