Question:

>May husb please borrow the idee for office H-we’en party? I can make him a >waiter costume, and Moonlet could be the DB.

Please do. If any of ya’ll lived near nuff here where it would be possible for our dogs to be mortified at wearing the same outfit to the party…well, I wouldn’t've posted it! Problem is to find a big enough bag… Speaking of doggy bags….(And this is really naughty) – for the "trick" as opposed to the "treat", my brothers used to put dog shit in a lunch bag and put it on someone’s porch, set the rim on fire, ring the doorbell and run and hide. Invariably the person who came to the door would stomp on the flame…. Of course I NEVER participated <g>. Susan

Response:

Quote: Problem is to find a big enough bag… I used a roll of Kraft paper and doublestick tape. As for the flaming bag — didn’t everybody do that? Then there’s writing bad words on the lawn of the neighborhood stinker with a squirt bottle full of strong salf solution….. Or — putting into a swimming pool (private type — same stinky neighbor) the orange dye that pilots have (had) in their survival jackets. Or — in the s. pool of nicer neighbor, you can put some chamical that turns BLUE when it is exposed to acid. So if somebody pees in the pool, they are immediately surrounded by a blue cloud. I’m not old enough to have put a wagon on top of a barn, but my Dad is… Runs in the fambly. Jane Webb Mudpie & Moonpie

Do they make bags big enough for a Dobe? Actually, my guys are going to be angels this year. Jean

Glad you like it, MaryBeth, but I can’t take credit for it. I develop Laserjet printers. The scanners come from another division and state. :) Terri Who would really like to see all these photos real soon!

My favorite photo of Haver does not have him looking proud and alert.  Rather the opposite in fact. I had been taking pictures of him in a corner vestpocket park and because of the noise from traffic was using hand signals to make him sit, stand, or stay.  Finally, I gave a signal, and Haver swiveled his head to face me, with his eyes SQUEEZED shut.  After all, if he couldn’t SEE my (hand) command, he couldn’t be accused of disobeyed. Just one more reason why I love Dobes. avrama & shomer .. nfx v2.7 [C0000] Loyalty: of dog to pack, and of pack to dog.

Every year a company called Shutter Pup comes to our grooming shop to do doggie portraits. They have a complete studio in an RV, and do absolutely breath-taking  work. They have taken dogs whom I would BET would not behave and come out with the greatest photos you could ever ask for. Shy dogs, fidgity dogs, biters, wigglers– doesn’t matter. Pros are pros for a reason– they are good! Your photographer will do great. (and if anyone ever gets the opportunity to have your pet photographed by Shutter Pup– GO FOR IT. Pricey, but I have an album full of pictures you would have to see to believe. They did a black and white Husky with a black background that is primo!)
