Battery charger in Cuba

Question:

Hi, Maybe a strange question, but is it possible to buy battery chargers (AA batteries) in Cuba? We are two Europeans who want to go on holiday to Cuba, and have a digital camera with us, with a charger for the batteries. I have not been able to find 110 Volt chargers in Sweden. One other option would be Schiphol Airport, but I have not been able to reach the shops there (the tel. number they give on the Schiphol site seems to be invalid). Thanks for any pointers, -peter

Response:

Most of Cuba is 220V

Response:

220 volts but you may still need an adaptor.  You better off buying a kit. According to http://kropla.com/electric2.htm Cuba has a variety of voltages and sockets in use. See page. From an American’s need of a charger that was more than just 110v, a couple http://www.panix.com/~donwiss/chargers.txt Don <donwiss at panix.com>.

Cuba, like the US has had 110 as a standard, but many of the newly – built/renovated hotels use 220.  Hotel websites often give this info (see some of my recent posts for links)…… — Best Greg

This is true. The island has 110 volts. Many of the resorts built in the last ten years are joint ventures with Spain, France, Germany, and Italy, and cater almost exclusively with client
