Tapes & film…….
Question:
Carry it with you. All of it. A regular X-Ray machine (the one next to the metal detector) won’t hurt it (as long as it’s below ISO 1000), but if you’re really paranoid, you can ask for it to be hand inspected. If you want the hand inspection, take all the film out of the canisters and put it in a clear plastic bag. Under no circumstances should you put it in checked luggage. If you happen to wind up on the angry side of one of the new, powerful scanners, you run the risk of having a 4mm band of fogged film. Developed film is fine to be checked. Matthew
