I had similar problem with 87. Check inside the vacuum controls box on firewall on passenger side. Look for small plastic vacuum valve about the side of a 35mm film cannister. It has three orifices. Mark the vacuum lines and carefully remove. Blow into each hole and check for obstructions. The culprit is probably one hole which has pin size orifice. Squirt some carb cleaner in and if necessary pick with a sharp sewing needle. This should clear the problem. In my case the light stayed off.

My Prelude’s idle goes nuts after to car warms up basically. It usually revs up to 1750, then down to 1250, up an down up an down, etc. Lately, its started revving up to 2, almost 2250 sometimes. When I kill the engine and restart, it’ll be solid for a minute or two, but the idle starts at 2-3000 when I do that, way way too high. Can anyone give me any ideas? I jsut replaced an air duct that was broken, oh, but the feul injection light still tells me somethings wrong with the EGR valve. Had the valve checked out, it was ok. I’m gonna start playing with the idle and see if that works, I thought that I got rid of the problem with the EGR valve. Hooboy I’m babbling. sorry
